Synopsis for "Defeat the Dragon Curse... or Die!"

When Dr. 13 and Marie Leeds visit their friends Harry and Rosemary in San Francisco during the Chinese New Year, they find that their friends have been killed. When the Phantom Stranger appears, he suggests that it is the curse of Ching Hi Fu. The Phantom Stranger works to capture the culprit, a man worshiping Ching Hi Fu, who has been trying to destroy modern buildings which he believes are an effrontery to his Chinese heritage. Although the Phantom Stranger manages to capture the man, Dr. 13 and he fail to learn how he managed to cause the destruction he was responsible for.

Trivia

  • "When Ghosts Walk" may be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Lee Falk adventure hero, the Phantom. The Phantom was also referred to as the Ghost Who Walks. Naming similarities aside, there is no connection between Falk's Phantom and the Phantom Stranger.
