Synopsis for "The Demon Gate"
Dr. Nathaniel Seine's wife is on her death bed, and in spite of her please to him to let her die, Seine has been trying to find a way to make her young and vital again. Having delved into all avenues of both science and magic in order to find a way to prolong his wife's life.
To facilitate this plan he creates Gola, a mystical construct, and uses her to capture the Phantom Stranger. Sein hopes to summon some Demons and use their power to transfer the Stranger's powers and vitality into his wife. Breaking free, the Phantom Stranger foils Sein's plot, and his wife Margaret dies, thanking the Stranger for helping in ending her suffering.
The Stranger departs, as the sobbing Dr. Sein vows to get revenge on the Stranger, whom he believes murdered his wife.

Synopsis for "Operation Frame-Up"
The Black Orchid attempts to stop the frame-up of an innocent man, but the criminals manage to escape. Their leader then decides to learn the true identity of the Black Orchid using a master computer designed by him.
