Synopsis for "Crimson Gold"

Two explorers find a downed Nazi airplane full of gold in the African jungle. One of them, Carolyn Tiegs, betrays her traveling companion and leaves him to drown in quicksand so that she can reap the benefits of the Nazi gold. The Phantom Stranger appears and warns her that her greed will be her demise.

As she partakes in the long struggle to civilization she has to dump more and more of her supplies and the gold that she was able to carry. Eventually she succumbs to a jungle related illness and dies, dropping the last gold bar she was carrying into a clearing. There it is found by a native man and his grandson. When the boy shows an interest, he is disciplined by his grandfather who tells him that if it cannot be eaten, be worn, or used for hunting then it is useless.
