This episode partially adapts Sandman (Volume 2) #29, Sandman (Volume 2) #48, and Sandman (Volume 2) #49.
Following some initial ambiguity in Season 1, this episode confirms that Lady Johanna Constantine is a different individual than the modern-day Johanna, who is basically a gender-bent John Constantine, as her tombstone (with year of death) is visible. This is consistent with the original comic book.
