Synopsis for "The King of Dreams!"

A child's nightmare is so intense that it threatens to invade others' dreams and destroying the Dreaming and break into reality. When Sandman attempts to wake him, it fails and he desperately decides to release Brute and Glob to fight the monsters in his dreams. They face a fierce and unwinnable battle until a silent superhero appears to save the trio. Sandman decides to take the most dramatic option of all and enters the Prime Earth to force the boy awake. His imagination is so strong, that his bed is surrounded by a grotesque beast with a huge face, a being of pure malevolence, and a dragon, among others. Sandman cannot fight off the horde until the hero appears again and vanquishes them. As Sandman thanks him, he dematerializes: the hero was a figment of he boy's imagination as well. Sandman conjectures that young Jacob Kurtzberg may have the most fantastic imagination in the world.
