There is a place where Gods are born. There is a place where a few ragged sounds can suggest a symphony. A place where pandemonium presents pattern where idle fancies turn to fornications and memories feign memories. A place where... for as long as sleeper can sleep... stories are spun. And so listen. Listen, now. At the heart of the Dreaming sits a castle. At the heart of the castle, a library. And in the library... a Librarian...

Notes
- Dream/Daniel Hall's story continues from the epilogue of Dark Nights: Metal #6.
- Lucien and Dream's story is continued in The Dreaming (Volume 2) #1.
- Lucifer's story is continued in Lucifer (Volume 3) #1.
- Erzulie's story is continued in House of Whispers #1.
- Tim Hunter's story is continued in Books of Magic (Volume 3) #1.
- This story reveals that most of the Sandman/Vertigo continuity was restored in the aftermath of the Rebirth.
- Lucifer's retirement to Los Angeles, the death of Dream/Morpheus and the rise of Dream/Daniel Hall confirm that the Season of Mists and The Kindly Ones storylines from Sandman (Volume 2) have happened in the current continuity;
- As a consequence of the Rebirth, Matt Cable, who was only a human during The New 52 era, is also restored to his Pre-Flashpoint counterpart;
- Matthew being currently alive and the main Raven of the Dreaming also implies that most of the events from The Dreaming (Volume 1) didn't happen in the Post-Flashpoint continuity;
- The Devil, Lucifer Morningstar, has been restored into the continuity. However, his New 52 self has not been erased from existence and, after the Rebirth, has become a separate character.[1]
- During The New 52, Tim Hunter originally appeared in Justice League Dark #12 and was displaced to Epoch in Justice League Dark #18 at the climax of the war against the Network. However, after the Rebirth, those events have been erased from the continuity and Tim Hunter was reverted back to some version of his Pre-Flashpoint counterpart.
- Although the events of The Books of Magic (Volume 1) are actually part of the continuity,[2] Tim still being a child obvsiously suggests that the events of The Books of Magic (Volume 2), The Names of Magic (Volume 1) and Hunter: The Age of Magic (Volume 1) never happened on Prime Earth.
- The possible future of the "Final Magical Conflict" has shifted forward in time after the Flashpoint. In the Pre-Flashpoint continuity, it was supposed to take place in 2005; however, in the modern continuity, it's meant to take place around early 2030s.
