Continuing on from Red Circle (Volume 1) is this modernization of MLJ characters, the Shield and Inferno. The introductory Inferno story which served as the series' second feature concluded in issue six, and a new story featuring the Fox began in issue seven. During the course of the series, various characters from the DCU made guest appearances and cameos in The Shield, including Magog, Grodd, The Great Ten, Green Arrow and the JSA.
