A medicine man by the name of Daddy Jonah attempts to cure a patient but the patient suddenly dies. The town doctor shows up and demands to know what is going on. Jonah accuses the doctor of incompetence and finds it necessary to help patients that need his help. The doctor swears that he will run Jonah out of town for practicing his dark magic. One day, Jonah is walking out in the woods when he encounters a crater in the ground with a child lying in the middle of it. He carries the child back to his home and revives him. The child has no recollection or memory of who he is or where he came from. Daddy Jonah is confident that he can create a potion that will restore the child’s memory. Jonah shows the child different sites around his village to see if anything looks familiar to the child but nothing jogs his memory. At one point the trees and animals shrivel up and die. The townspeople take notice and the town doctor starts to blame Jonah for the weird events. At one point the mysterious child washes his hands in a pond and it immediately dries up and kills all the living animals that live in its waters. Within an hour the town becomes fearful and angry. A mob shows up at Jonahs door demanding that he come out. They are led by the town doctor that suddenly goes down with a pain in his chest. The townspeople implore Jonah to save his life. Jonah is hesitant but agrees to help the doctor with his knowledge of potions. He saves the doctors life and everything seems fine but then the strange child announces that he has regained his memory. The child states that he is not of this earth and that he originated from outer space. He transforms into a meteor shape and flies off into space. Daddy Jonah stares at the stars and wonders if he will ever see the child again.

Later that night a note attached to a rock comes flying in through their window warning them to clear out. Coyle decides to head to town to demand more protection from law enforcement. As he is driving in, the brakes on the car fail but luckily Coyle manages to crash the car into a bale of hay. He repairs the brake line and phones his wife informing her that he will be driving in very slowly because of the damage to the brakes. Coyle enters the house and points the rifle at his own wife. She runs off into the night and Coyle chases after her in their car. As he is driving, he realizes that the car has faulty brakes and crashes out of control. He is thrown out of the car and his wife rushes to hold him as she announces that she will get him help. The narrator judge Gallows explains that Coyle created his alternate personality as a result of being dominated by his wife.
