The lookalike thief confesses to robbing several valuables from freshly buried bodies but surprisingly the caretaker does not turn him in. He offers the thief refuge in his own home as he wonders why he feels compelled to helping this unusual criminal. Luke eventually decides that it is too risky hiding him in his own home and he arranges for the thief to sneak away In a hearse bound for the city. The graverobber is perplexed when he sees that the hearse is not headed back to a funeral home but rather to a scrapyard where the car is sold for scrap and crushed with the thief still inside. The scene changes as Luke wakes up from a nightmare. He realizes that the thief was actually himself and he was witnessing an omen as to what would happen if he continued robbing the dead.
