Synopsis for "Dead Man's Eyes"
Gangster Frank Bronson takes his dame, Myra, to a fortune teller, Madam Zara, who tells him he will successfully knock off Ed Macy's Gambling Room that evening. Acting on the prophecy, Bronson hits his rival's Gambling Room but loses his eyesight in the ensuing gunfight. When word gets out that he's blind, Frank Bronson's crime empire crumbles. Returning to Madam Zara, Frank demands that she switches his body with Ed Macy's body. Madam Zara agrees but assures him that this will be the last time he can seek her aid. One week later, Bronson is leaving for a private meeting between him and Macy. Fearing that something bad will happen, Myra urges him not to go. Bronson pushes her aside where she stumbles, hits her head and is knocked out cold. At the private meeting, Madam Zara the switches bodies of Frank Bronson and Ed Macy. Macy, in Bronson's body, finds himself blind and begins to shoot blindly. This brings in Bronson and Macy's gunmen who shoot down Macy in Bronson's body thinking that he is violating the pre-established truce for this meeting. With both gangs now working for Bronson (in Macy's body), Frank is on top of the world. Weeks go by and he sends for Myra. Once they are alone, Frank gleefully tells Myra that he is not really Ed Macy but her boyfriend Bronson and that from then on they'll have it made. Myra takes out a bottle of acid and throws it in Bronson's eyes out of revenge for what she thinks is the death of her boyfriend. Blinded, he asks Myra why she has done this when he had explained the situation to her. The henchman who brought Myra rushes in and tells the now blinded Frank he is wasting his time asking her anything as she has been struck "deaf and dumb" ever since she hit her head trying to stop her boyfriend from going to the meeting.
