Detective Tommy Burke is the comedian and ladies' man of the Gotham City Police Department's Major Crimes Unit, or so he would like to think. His attempts at making light of situations may partly be an attempt to cover up how uncomfortable he feels as one of the youngest members of the unit.
History
Burke has a gambling habit. He frequently loses large amounts of money playing poker and runs late to appointments when he loses.[1] His partner during the day shift is Dagmar Procjnow, who often finds him to be a source of worry and frustration and who is the one who pointed out that he's late when he loses a gambling and is early when he wins.
Burke was close friends with Commissioner James Gordon, becoming even closer when Gordon was shot during his birthday party.
