Edge was a New Blood ally of Steel.
History
Tom O'Brien was a young working man in Metropolis who was forced to drop out of high school to support his family, and became a community figure in his neighborhood, becoming friends with John Henry Irons. While Tom was one of the strongest men in his neighborhood, he was captured by the alien parasite "Angon" who accidentally activated his metagene in an attempt to drain and feed on his spinal fluids. Waking up in a pile of other bodies (other victims of Angon), Tom found himself entirely covered in strange blades all over his body. Although at first in his confusion he believed himself to have murdered the people, and ran into some trouble with the MSCU, he would quickly team up with Steel in an attack against Angon, and although they failed to kill it, they did drive it out of Metropolis.

Powers
Claws: Edge is able to generate sharp blades from his skin and fire them at will, capable of slicing through even the armor of Steel (John Henry Irons).
