Colonel[1] Tommy Tomorrow is a space-faring adventurer from a universe where virtually every planet and moon in our Solar System is inhabited by some kind of lifeform and the Earth has advanced technology in space travel.

Tommy was firstly an astronaut (he was the first man to reach Mars in 1960)[3]. Soon, he became a space patrolman at service of the Planeteers. Tommy Tomorrow is married and fathered at least two children[2]. He had a younger brother named Tim Tomorrow. Most of his early adventures had him operating between 1988 and 1992 AD, a time in which he would be at least 46 years old[2].

Tommy operated as a space patrol officer in a organization known as the Planeteers and received orders from a superior known only as "Commander". Captain Brent Wood was Tommy's co-pilot and the duo shared many adventures.

  • Ring-Radio: It permits Radio Communication and shoot out a small atomic flame. [5]
  • Personal Diary: This device records videos and can be used as a projector.[5]
  • Darkness Flash: Generates a darkness field.[5]
  • Fluoroscopic Spectacles: It permits to the wielder to see invisible force-beams.[7]

  • Space Ace: Tommy Tomorrow patrolled the reaches of outer space in his personal space craft the Space Ace.

Weapons

  • Ray-Gun: able to melt bullets before they reach the wielder. [5]

  • This version of Tommy Tomorrow, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
  • In his first 4 adventures, he had brown hair, and changed to blonde from the fifth adventure.
  • Tommy Tomorrow was regularly featured in back-up stories in Action Comics.
  • Crisis on Infinite Earths: Absolute Edition established that adventures of this Tommy Tomorrow's version happened on Earth-54 given they happened in the 20th century while the later stories were set in the 21st century.
