Doctor Thomas Wayne was the protective and ambitious head of Wayne Enterprises, and the father of Bruce Wayne. Doing whatever he deemed best for his family and home of Gotham City, he ran for mayor and even worked with Carmine Falcone before he was gunned down in front of his son.

Early life

Thomas Wayne was born in 1962 into the wealthy Wayne family, one of the founding families of Gotham City, New York. He grew up to become passionate about helping the city, as well as very ambitious, earning a doctorate in surgery as well as becoming the head of Wayne Enterprises, the family company, and brought it to new heights it had never before seen. Eventually, he met the kind but mentally unstable Martha Arkham, and the two fell in love, eventually getting married. They hired the sardonic and protective soldier Alfred Pennyworth as their butler and bodyguard shortly before having their son, Bruce Wayne, in 1992.

A few years after Bruce was born, the gangster Carmine Falcone came to the Waynes' home, having been shot in the chest and unable to go to the hospital because of his criminal status. Thomas operated on him, saving his life, and Falcone felt a great debt of gratitude to Thomas and his family, and he became Thomas' secret associate for several years.[1]
