So, many of our templates have fields that allow you to choose a quote to appear at the top of the page, whether it's a character page or an issue/comic page.
This can be a good way to give some clue as to the character's personality (whether it's a quote from the character or a quote about that character from someone else).
On an issue/comic page - (I'm using that slash there, because I like to call it an issue page, but the template it uses is the comic template) - a quote can be used to give some hint as to what happens in the issue, or something that encapsulates the theme of the issue. Or maybe it's just something especially funny or cool.
Now, here's the important thing: When you source the quote, you must use the full name of the character, with its earth-designation, (e.g. "Bruce Wayne (New Earth)").
As usual, the reason why that is required, is because our templates automatically add categories for the quotes. So, any time you type "Bruce Wayne (New Earth)" as the source for a quote, the template will automatically add that quote to Category:Bruce Wayne (New Earth)/Quotes.
If you were to put in "Batman (Bruce Wayne)" or just "Batman", the template would create Category:Batman/Quotes - which ain't good ('Cause then we end up with a million different quote categories, and you don't know where to find ALL of the quotes from one character, 'cause they're spread out).
In fact, anywhere that auto-categorization is involved requires that you use the full name and earth designation. So, appearances and quotes.
I know that a few of our pages, like "Superman (Clark Kent)" aren't formatted that way. That's a special case. We still use "Kal-El (New Earth)" for his categories. That exception is just to help us out in google results. Please stick to the "Kal-El (New Earth)" format.
Thanks, all.
