So, I was going through Superman Unchained #5 today, which has a load of variant covers, and I thought "We don't have a consistent way of seeing all of a particular series' variant covers."
So, like I did earlier this year by creating the code that automates additions to Textless Cover Images by Series, I decided to do the same thing for Variant covers.
On the Image Template, every time "ImageType" is filled out with "variant" (and the correct source field is filled out), the image will be added to the category "SERIESTITLE Vol #/Variant Cover Images." Unfortunately, we have to go into each of THOSE categories and MANUALLY add them to "Variant Cover Images by Series" - but that shouldn't take too much time.
Once all that is done, you'll be able to browse all of your favourite variant cover images from a particular series in order of their corresponding issue numbers. I think that's pretty cool. I don't care what you think, unless you also think that.
(p.s. some of you need a crash course in filling out the image template properly).
Edit: For those of you who do need a crash course in filling out the Image Template properly, I have created Help:Image Template Hub to guide you, and will soon write up specific help pages for different licenses and imagetypes.
