Are you still reading Forager? I just read the last one and have no idea what's going on anymore. Besides that, I don't know if we're supposed to recognize any of those characters or not. I'm not as up on my Kirby stuff as I thought.
I am, I've just gone into some serious hibernation in anticipation of Justice League (which hopefully I can finally see today). I haven't gotten the chance to read the latest issue yet but, honestly, I'm not the best at Kirby either. We'll see.
I respect that. I guess the whole point of the series is that Forager is hopping in between realities that, I guess, exist but kinda don't exist?
I made all those Prime Earth pages for characters awhile ago, thinking it was Prime Earth this whole time, but they could probably all be scrapped and funneled into their old (probably New Earth) versions. If that's the case, though, then we should probably funnel Forager into his New Earth version as well and just say this series is a continuation of that.
I'd like to wait until this ends and we see the Young Animal crossover before we do anything drastic. He could be hopping between realities or this could be one of those things where events happened the same on both Earth-One and Prime Earth. It's just interesting to me that guys like the Hog, Dr. Spider, Dr. Skuba, and Chagra seem to pick up right after their 70's stories end in cliffhangers.
Agreed, waiting is fine. That's the assumption I originally made, too - that the events just so happened to be the same between the two continuities. The same thing is happening in Doom Patrol, where Morrison's entire run seems to still be totally canon. I'm fine with putting a pin in this and coming back when we have a conclusion to work with.
Not yet, but I will right now. I have the first two issues of Imaginary Fiends in my queue to read too, there's been a bit of a backup. I'm not predicting a perfectly smooth way to solve everything with Bug, but we'll see.
I read it, it doesn't really answer anything, but I definitely think the whole series was meant to just continue characters Kirby started, like you mentioned. I'm still siding with what I said earlier about going back and funneling all the characters into their respective original-Kirby character pages - Bug, and everybody else, is New Earth, not Prime Earth.
I'll try to get it read soon. The only reason I hesitate moving to New Earth is that the rest of the Young Animal books pretty clearly don't take place on New Earth. Even the backup feature seems to be set on Prime Earth. I'm wondering if we're reading to much into something just meant to showcase Kirby's creations.
