History
"Fog" Fortune, "Gunner" Bill, and "Whistler" Will were former Army pilots who grew sick of the futility of war and the tragedy it brought, so they decided to team up and use their skills to help restore peace and sanity to the world. This earned them the title "The Three Aces", by the many people they helped. But inevitably, they were drawn into the world-wide war.
During World War II, the trio served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Roosevelt, in the North Sea, operating out of a harbor in Northern Ireland, and attacking Nazi-occupied Norway.[1] In between their military duties they also found time to go adventuring in distant parts of the world, often making discoveries of lost treasure.
After the war ended, it's likely that they retired back into civilian life, although this has not been confirmed.

- This version of the Three Aces, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
