The Thunderbelt is a device capable to increase wearer strength.
History
During an excavation on Apokolips, Desaad found the Thunderbelt, a relic left by the Old Gods. Following Darkseid's instructions, he created modifications and enhancements on the belt to not only increase Kalibak's strength, but also be the ultimate device to control him.
Capabilities
The belt is capable of multiplying its wearer's strength to unknown levels. But despite this augmentation, the device is highly addictive: the longer the belt is worn, the more addicted the user becomes, thanks to Desaad's modifications.[1] The evil New God also built a kill switch to turn off the device and inflict agonizing pain on the wearer.
Notes
- Its appearance and capabilities seem to be based on the mythological Megingjord, a belt that increased Thor's strength and made him able to wield Mjolnir.
