Sabbac was an enemy of Captain Marvel empowered by six demons.
History
Timothy Karnes was a Nazi conspirator who joined a group of Nazi spies, as they promised control of the United States if he would help them conquer it. Karnes was granted the powers of various demons, which provided him powers similar to Captain Marvel and his allies. To access these powers, all Karnes had to do was say the magic word "SABBAC", and magic black lightning struck upward from the underworld, transforming him into a muscle-bound demon with super strength, flight, fiery breath, and the ability to emit fire blasts from the palms of his hands. His powers matched those of the Marvels. Like Captain Marvel's magic word "Shazam", the word Sabbac is an acronym for the six beings who empower Sabbac: the demons Satan, Aym, Belial, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, and Craeteis.
He first encountered Captain Marvel Jr. who tried to stop him from destroying transport lines, to isolate East and West America. The demons empowering him were unimpressed with Karnes, and one by one they left him, removing his powers, until Satan left him, allowing him to be defeated.

Weaknesses
- Power Loss: If challenging a particularly potent enemy (such as Captain Marvel Jr.), the demons empowering Sabbac are intimidated and one by one they will leave him, removing his respective powers, allowing him to be defeated.

Equipment
- Book of Black Magic: This tome contain spells to summon the six demons which empower him (and other extradimensional monsters), and create a magic smokescreen.[1]
- Nightmare Projector: Only creates a nightmare on the victim, based on a filmed event, where it used an actor who will be personified in the victim. For example, in the first appearance of the projector, Sabbac filmed a scene where Satan, as the actor, suffered torments in the hands of other demons. The result was that people who attend the film felt Satan's torments.[2]
Notes
- This version of Sabbac, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
