Synopsis for "Wild Blue"
Beast-People transformed into aquatic creatures launch a fierce attack on Atlantis. Aquaman quickly rallies the Aquaman Family to defend the city, instructing Garth to head to the surface and rejoin the Titans. However, as Garth tries to protect Tula, he is overwhelmed by the Beast-People. Arthur intervenes to save him, but in the process, he becomes infected by a spore, forcing his imprisonment.
Arthur's connection with the Red slows down the transformation, but it's clear that the change is inevitable. After hearing Arthur's final words and witnessing his sacrifice, Garth realizes that it's time for him to have a conversation with Brother Eternity, and he departs Atlantis for the surface.
Mera, not wanting Andy to see her father in this state, asks Jackson to step back as Aquaman begins his slow but inevitable transformation into a reptilian creature.

Synopsis for "Just When You Thought It Was Safe To Go Back In The Water..."
A mutated Black Manta has been hunting in the seas around Amnesty Bay. Deadeye and Vixen arrive to return him to normal and recruit him into the Network. They bring along his former Suicide Squad teammate Captain Boomerang, although Harkness admits that he and Manta don't care about each other and claims he's only there to keep Manta out of Amanda Waller's hands. They go out on a boat and attempt to track him, but find that he has become a hundred-foot long monster that attacks the boat. Their attacks are ineffective and Vixen jumps onto him and attempts to communicate with him through the Red. She is able to get through but Boomerang shoots Manta and breaks their link, claiming that he thought she was in danger. Deadeye leaps into Manta's open mouth and physically pulls the spore out of him, returning him to normal.
They return to shore and Manta agrees to help them to pay them back for helping him. Captain Boomerang walks off to take a call which he claims is from Captain Cold but is in fact Waller, who he is still working for. Boomerang tells Waller he was unable to prevent them rescuing Manta but does report that Deadeye is putting a team together. Meanwhile Waller has kidnapped Dolphin and forces a spore on her.

Synopsis for "Out of his Depths"
To keep the gathering Beast-People at bay, Mera has reactivated the Crown of Thorns. Jackson is convinced that he can remove and kill the spores with bioelectricity, and goes out to face them after Mera explicitly tells him not to. Mera chases after him to bring him back. Jackson finds that the shark women attacking Atlantis are in fact Amazons, and is able to free one by shocking her, but the spore survives and leaps out of the Amazon to infect Mera, who changes into a huge aquatic predator. The transformed Mera dives towards the city, and is able to easily penetrates the Crown of Thorns as she is wearing a medallion that lets its wearer cross through the force field. She attacks Tula and Andy, but Andy's telepathic powers awaken and she commands Mera to leave. She does, leaving the medallion behind. Tula says they need to chase after and recapture Mera, but Jackson says she would have wanted them to stay and defend Andy and the city.
