Titans: Titans Together #4 is a chapter in the digital-first series Titans: Titans Together (Volume 1 (Digital)) with a cover date of July, 2020.
Synopsis for "Career Day"
Starfire and Wonder Girl put on an exhibition match for the students of a school so they can learn from it. The teacher, Mrs. Kakalios, tells them Starfire's starbolts are theorized to be an undiscovered form of plasma and they generate a concussive wave as the air clashes with the increasing heat generated by them, but Wonder Girl's body structure is far stronger than humans due to the effects of the purple ray and thus can take it. As Donna sends Starfire flying after grabbing her, Raven teleports out of her way and states it was magic but gets interrupted by Donna before revealing her father is a demon lord.
Donna states that if they keep trying to discover how the powers of the heroes work scientifically, the world will be safer. One of the students named Sofia Zambrano however states that they only put humans in danger and they can't protect themselves like them. Mrs. Kakalios reprimands her and orders her to go to the principal's office before going back home in a bus with kindergartners. Raven follows her into the bus and Sofia arrives back home to find her mother bleeding in the bathroom. Sofia tells her she needs to go to a hospital, but she tells her not to do it, otherwise she'll be deported back to Guatemala.
Raven offers her help but Sofia tells her to leave, though she eventually acquiesces as her mother's condition worsens. She also tells Raven her mother's name is Maya, but the sorceress struggles to heal her as her wound has been infected. Raven learns from probing Maya's memories that she was a member of the H.I.V.E. who fought the Titans with an energy blaster while assisting the others in stealing from a S.T.A.R. Labs facility. She got hit by a shrapnel during an explosion and landed in a sewer, which is how she got infected.
Raven exerts a great deal of her power and passes out after successfully healing Maya, who admits to Sofia she worked with the H.I.V.E. as they employ her for her skills and will pay her good money once she settles the debts for the equipment she loaned from them. The money earned from turning in Raven will be however enough to get Sofia a better life, as she proceeds to shock her with her weapon. Donna and Starfire later contact the Titans Tower and tell the others that Raven has been missing ever since she followed Sofia, who has no address listed in the school records. Red Hood however finds her location by hacking into the Batcomputer's database.
Sofia meanwhile contacts the Titans after fixing Raven's earbud and informs Nightwing that her mother is taking Raven to the H.I.V.E. for a reward. She states she can locate her since she's been tinkering with her equipment for a long time, but conditions that she'll only help if they take her along. At the H.I.V.E. hideout, Maya tells the other members to let her in and soon gets contacted by Sofia who hacked their intercoms. Sofia asks her to not give Raven to H.I.V.E. for her and she would have usually stood up those who did wrong. Maya relents, but gets discovered by the H.I.V.E. members who congratulate her for catching Raven and state she might even receive a regular income.
Maya attacks the H.I.V.E. with her weapon, but they deflect her energy blasts and reveal they already heard what Sofia told her. The Titans enter their hideout along with Sofia and proceed to attack them, but get disoriented by their neural disruptors. The injured Maya tells Sofia to use her weapon to create a sonic blast in order to shatter the helmet glass of the H.I.V.E. members, so they'll be affected too. Beast Boy and Nightwing get told by Donna and Raven that Sofia and Maya stripped the H.I.V.E. members of all their equipment and fled before any of the Titans regained consciousness. Nightwing states he and Jason can find them, but Donna implies that they don't. Weeks later in another city, Sofia and Maya are revealed to have opened up an electronics repair shop.
