Greer's not too bright, but he's a good trigger-man! Funny... That the ultra-science of Apokolips should wind up in the hands of that dumb hood! But there are times when one must combine brilliance and stupidity to get the job done!

Tombstone Greer was a professional killer in the employ of Intergang.

Tombstone Greer was dispatched to conduct a regular bank heist, but he somehow botched the job so badly that he wound up holed up in a dilapidated building with half the force of the Metropolis Police Department down upon him. To cover his getaway using the subterranean tunnel network burrowed by the agents of Darkseid, Greer set up two automated robot turrets to return police fire. The result was a veritable massacre, with police officers indicated to have perished in the crossfire. Jim Corrigan was wounded in a brave yet futile attempt to charge the building. Ultimately, Superman was required to secure the area by destroying the robot-turrets. Greer reported back to his boss, Morgan Edge, and after being criticized harshly for his handling of the bank job, Greer was assigned the new mission of executing a second Morgan Edge who was hiding in the Galaxy Communications film library. However, Darkseid punished Intergang's Edge by teleporting him into the film library with the Omega Effect, ensuring that Greer would shoot and kill the wrong Morgan Edge upon his arrival. Only after gauging the surviving Edge's reaction did Greer realize his mistake. Greer prepared to blast the remaining Morgan Edge, but the discharge was stifled by the timely appearance of Superman. Consequently, Greer's energy blaster backfired and reduced Greer to a pile of ashes.[1]
