The House of Topaz is a powerful noble family in Gemworld, which has made them allies to Amethyst. Their patriarch is Lord Topaz, who was killed by Dark Opal. Prince Topaz is a heroic swordsman who has been in love with Amethyst. Princess Topaz was an evil schemer, allying herself with Opal and Lady Sapphire to secure her own power. There is an unrelated villain named Topaz who works with her partner Diamond as member of the Silicon Syndicate. The House of Topaz was created by Dan Mishkin and Gary Cohn, first appearing in Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld #4. (1983)
