The Totality is the oldest energy source in existence, and the power core from which the Multiverse was created.
History
The Totality was formed when the super-celestial being Perpetua, the mother of the Multiverse, rebelled against the Source and her intended role in the great scheme of things. Refusing to relinquish control over her Multiverse and facing the inevitable dissolution that befalls beings like her once their creations are complete, Perpetua defied her natural function. She fused the DNA of Humans and Martians, crafting a new hybrid race in a desperate bid to form an army that could defy her superiors. As a result of her defiance, her children — the Monitor, the World Forger, and the Anti-Monitor — betrayed her and alerted beings like Perpetua, the Hands. In response, the Hands constructed the Source Wall, a seemingly infinite barrier that closed off Perpetua’s Multiverse from the rest of the Greater Omniverse and trapped her within it. The immense power Perpetua used to create the Multiverse was sealed away within the spherical object known as the Totality.
A billion years later, during the invasion of the Dark Multiverse, the Justice League was forced to use Element X to defeat Barbatos and restore Prime Earth to its original position.[1] However, this action came at a great cost — it shattered the Source Wall, unleashing the Totality and sending it hurtling toward Earth. As the Source Wall was breached and the Totality phased through time, it awakened the Seven Hidden Forces of the Universe — dark energies once sealed away by the Source Wall. This caused certain key events to be altered. Vandal Savage discovered fragments of the Totality scattered across time and later involved Lionel Luthor in uncovering its secrets, along with those of the Seven Hidden Forces. Eventually, Lionel’s son, Lex Luthor, took up the quest, leading a campaign with the Legion of Doom to unlock each of the Seven Forces and gain access to the full power of the Totality.
William Payton was hit by a small piece of the Totality when the Stellaron-5 satellite attempted to capture a fragment of the its power decades before it would arrive in full, granting him a connection to the Totality and cosmic based abilities.
Much later, Brainiac was able to redirect Will Payton's power to the Totality, restoring the physical form of Perpetua.

Powers
The Totality contains power directly from the Source of All Things and represents the full spectrum of energy used by Perpetua to create the Multiverse. The Totality act as a gateway to the Seven Hidden Forces of the Universe.
- The Still Force, the cosmic current toward stasis and death.
- The Ultraviolet Spectrum, the unseen light of all hidden emotions.
- The Tear of Extinction, a dark mirror of life's connection, a drive toward isolation and solipsism.
- The Void Wind, a force used to end Gods and snuff out Magic.
- The Black Apple, a force based on the forbidden knowledge of the universe.
- The Sixth Note, a cosmic force beyond imagination.
- The seventh and final dark force is based on faith in the most cruel and selfish nature of people.
Exposure to the Totality can cause radical evolution, enhancing individuals physically and mentally (as seen with Killer Croc). It may awaken latent potential or reshape someone’s very nature (as seen with Starman). Accessing the full power of the Totality allows one to dominate the Multiverse and remake it.
