Titano is a mutated chimpanzee who was fought by Superman.
History
Toto was a chimp in space, whose space capsule was struck by the radiation of the collision of a meteor and an asteroid. Superman rescued Toto's capsule in time but when it was open in Cape Canaveral, Toto had changed. He grew to gigantic proportions and now could emit energy from its eyes - kryptonite rays, and attacked Superman. The US Army opened fire against Toto, shooting missiles against the giant chimp. Even partially weakened by kryptonite, the Man of Steel shielded the beast from the missiles. Superman then took a lead plate from a shelter roof and made a shield. With it, he blocked Toto's kryptonite-rays and knocked out the chimp. Toto returned to normal after the effects of kryptonite disappeared.
