Trina Todd was a trapeze artist, member of the Sloan Circus in New Jersey as part of the act called "The Flying Todds" along with her husband, Joseph and their son, Jason. Trina and Joe adopted the name of their circus act after the Flying Graysons, a group that they admired.

Eventually, Waldo the clown, who was a mutual friend of Dick Grayson introduced Trina and her family to the young Dick, who in turn introduced them to his guardian, Bruce Wayne during a party at Wayne Manor. It was then that Trina accidentally walked into Bruce's living room while he was changing his clothes and she noticed the Batsuit on the floor and the injuries on Bruce's body. Like this, Trina deduced the truth of Batman and Robin, but she kept the secret.[1]

Eventually, Trina told Dick about a protection racket taking place in Sloan Circus, and doing some investigations, they learned that a criminal called Killer Croc was responsible.[2] The Todds agreed to help Dick investigate the criminal, but he couldn't expect that Joe and Trina would follow Croc to his hideout at the Gotham Zoo. The two acrobats left their son Jason at the care of Waldo, while they tried to uncover as much information about Croc as possible.[3] Unfortunately, Croc was aware of their presence and he had the Todds murdered and tossed to the crocodile pit, where their bodies were found hours later by the Gotham City Police Department and a very upset Robin.[4]
