Synopsis for "Better Together, Part Two: Smallville"

Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman suddenly find themselves in costume standing in front of Jonathan Kent (New Earth) and Clark as a child, in the barn of Superman's childhood home. The surprise causes Jonathan to suffer from a heart attack, and panicking after he cannot hear his fathers heartbeat, the young Clark flees. Superman is able to wake Jonathan up, but upon coming to, he sees the emblem on Superman's chest and panics, thinking that Superman is Clark's father. He backs away, begging them not to take his son.

Back in Smith Farm, Lois wakes up Jon, with him having fallen asleep at the windowsill. She gives him a Monarch's baseball cap that Clark had intended to give him, and reassures him that he'll be back and that he has nothing to worry about with Clark, Diana and Bruce's disappearance.

Over at Devil's Mouth Falls in Smallville, the young Clark takes refuge in a cave. While there, he hears a mysterious voice telling him that it can help him, as long as he helps it. Meanwhile, having reassured Jonathan that Superman is not Clark's father that's here to take him away, the three are led to the basement of the barn, where Jonathan explains that he has told Clark about his past, and shows them the rocket he arrived in. Given that they will attract too much attention in their costumes, Jonathan opts to drive them to Devil's Mouth, where he predicts Clark will be.

Continuing on foot, Batman notes his continued suspicion with their environment to Wonder Woman. He notes that the possibility of them being in the past means that they may be altering the future, while it may also be that they have simply been transported to another location elsewhere designed to trick them. Meanwhile, Jonathan asks Superman about his own children, and admits to him that he struggles to keep up with his super-powered son. While his attempts to keep Clark secret have succeeded so far, with the arrival of the three heroes he now recognises that he will need to tell others about the secret. They arrive at the lake and Batman spots the young Clark in the cave. However, as Batman and Wonder Woman head up there to collect him, the high Kryptonite concentration of the lake causes Superman to fall unconscious, and Jonathan is forced to dive in and save them. As they resurface, Superman assures Jonathan that while he may not have the answers, he is nonetheless a great father and is all Clark will ever need. Batman and Wonder Woman return with Clark and the two reunite, although Wonder Woman questions how Clark is unaffected by the Kryptonite in the lake.

Back at Smith Farm, Jon attempts to find his father in the barn, only to find the door snared by large plants. At that point, Poison Ivy reveals herself to him as the stranger who had given him the seeds previously and that they have now worked, before knocking him unconscious with her vines. She then enters the barn where Clark, Bruce and Diana are all unconscious and under the control of Black Mercy, promising that while she takes care of them out here, he will take care of them in there.
