Synopsis for "Choices"
In Baltimore, Pandora and Marcus Severin put a stop to a group of desperate people who are trying to rob a truck carrying aid and relief supplies in the wake of the destruction caused by the Crime Syndicate. At the same time, Agent Kincaid of S.H.A.D.E. is disobeying orders to stop following Pandora, and carrying a weapon capable of killing an immortal. Her organization threatens to designate her as a rogue agent and see her put down. She doesn't care. In her mind, killing Pandora is an entirely justifiable act.
Outside Baltimore's city limits, Vandal Savage has stolen an ambulance, and is following the itch in his mind that he knows is Pandora - and he will kill her when he finds her. When Pandora sees the ambulance speeding toward her, she assumes it is full of paramedics who will offer help. In that moment, Kinkaid fires her weapon, and it attaches a device to Pandora's shoulder that causes her intense pain. She manages to tear it off, but is disturbed to learn that her wound is not healing itself. Angrily, she guesses the source of the attack, transforms into the form of the spirit of hope, and flies off before Marcus can warn her against it. Just then, the ambulance squeals to a stop at Marcus' feet, and he doesn't know how to react to a man like Vandal Savage.
On the roof from which Kincaid fired her shot, the Agent is surprised when Pandora crashes down next to her. Angrily, Pandora demands to know why an agent of S.H.A.D.E. would attack her, but rather than answer, Kinkaid leaps off of the building. Disturbed, Pandora watches as Kincaid transforms into a crow before she lands, flying away with the dangerous weapon in her talons. She alights on a nearby roof, returning to human form, but Pandora has already caught up with her, and casts a spell to prevent further transformations. She places a gun to Kincaid's head and promises that she does know a cure for the curse of shape-shifting, but Kincaid obviously doesn't want a cure. What she wants is to kill Pandora - and she has already taken the first step in doing that by removing her ability to regenerate via the weapon.
Kincaid explains that S.H.A.D.E.'s files show Pandora at the site of every major conflict and atrocity in human history. Naturally she assumes Pandora is responsible for those events. Pandora explains that being made to watch those events is her curse. The women are at a standstill, with guns to each others heads when Vandal Savage reveals himself, suggesting that they kill Marcus and Kincaid so that they can fight each other as equals without interference. He, after all, is her only worthy foe.
