Synopsis for "All My Names"
Giganta presses Agent Kincaid of S.H.A.D.E. to reverse the damage she did to Pandora's healing ability. She explains that Pandora is the only person who ever seemed to think she was worth a damn, and warns that if Kincaid can't fix her, she will pay. Reluctantly, Kincaid drops to her knees and begins dressing Pandora's wound, warning that S.H.A.D.E. considers Pandora to be the worst person who ever lived.
In 1800 BCE, on the coast of Mycenae, Greece, Pandora had relied on her friend Markos to create her the weapons she needed to fight evil. He had reminded her not to take the names people called her seriously - they had merely believed the false myths about her. As thanks for his help, all he would require would be the use of his weapons. Suddenly, his forge came under attack by Wrath and his minions. In the melee, Markos was gored by a spear and killed.
She had taken his body to an oracle, who showed her how to burn his body so that he would be reincarnated rather than passing on to Elysium. The old woman warned, though, that he will only be living to suffer again. Every time he is brought back, he will suffer the same fate as before.
After having her wound treated, albeit not well, Pandora rises to her feet. She explains that she has to catch her friend Marcus' spirit in a mystic flame so that he can be raised again - just as she had done so many times before for thousands of years. She admits that she had expected the cycle of death to end with the end of the seven sins, but it had happened again anyway.
At the temple in Thailand, in 600 CE, Pandora's weaponsmith Mongkut offered her a silk scarf, and taught her how to wield it as a deadly weapon against evil, though he knew that one day this secret art would be erased from history. Knowing that death would soon follow, Pandora warned him to leave before it arrived. However, he was too loyal to his fellow monks, and would not hide while they died. He reminded her to deal with his body as she had in the past, ensuring that he would live again to love her again.
Despite her role in his causing Pandora pain, Kincaid agrees to help build the pyre, offering her real name: Jennifer. Together, the three women lay Marcus' body on top of the pyre, and Pandora apologizes to him for waiting so long to bring him back. And now that she must do it again, it will be a long time before he's old enough to come find her again. Upon lighting the pyre and speaking her words, Pandora sees in the void that his soul has been reborn in Okinawa, Japan. Doubtfully, Kincaid wonders if he really wants to be reborn like this. Pandora insists that she always gives him the choice to leave her, but he has never asked to do so.
Nearby, a group of Vampires discovers that a spirit fire has been lit, and a soul has been reborn. Annoyed by the competition, their leader promises to eliminate them, and take the city of Baltimore for its blood.
Unconvinced of Pandora's motivations, Kincaid gets word of the impending vampire attack from S.H.A.D.E. and suggests that if Pandora and Giganta want to prove their good intentions, they will help her stave it off.
