No! I say the council should pass my motion that my matter-dissolver be used to eliminate condemned criminals.
- — Tron-Et src
Tron-Et briefly rose above his station, from Kandorian gangleader to Moliom in the Kryptonian Science Council, before being caught and exposed by Jor-El.
History
In order to win a seat on the Science Council, Tron-Et had taken a weapon divised by Vas-Ur and claimed it as his own invention. As a law-and-order candidate, Tron proposed using his stolen Matter-Dissolver Beam to eliminate criminals; but actually had a secret agenda.
Jor-El intervened with the Science Council and put forward his own 'rehabilitation through hibernation' plan; which Tron-Et sabotaged using the Matter-Dissolver, and an evil twin brother, Ed-Ilv. After Tron-Et murdered criminal test subject Nali-Ilv, Ed replaced him and used a stolen Anti-Gravity Belt to feign super-powers and disgrace Jor-El's experiment. When caught, Ed-Ilv quickly turned and exposed Tron-Et's scheme; which involved 'dissolving' convicted criminals that held damaging information on the secret gangleader. Ironically, the murdered Nali-Ilv had refused to reveal the identity of Tron-Et.[1]
After being taken away by the Robot Police, Tron-Et was stripped of his seat on the Science Council and sentenced to 25 years orbiting Krypton. It is not known if he survived the cataclysm that soon destroyed the planet.[2]

Notes
- This version of Tron-Et, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022–2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
- Tron-Et is not a scientist, but a gangleader that used his criminal connections to win a seat on the Science Council.
Trivia
- The Matter-Dissolver Beam was actually invented by Vas-Ur - the grandfather of Jax-Ur - seen only as a statue in Adventure Comics #313.
