Tuatara is a super-hero and a member of the Global Guardians. His name is taken from a reptile endemic to New Zealand, his home country. He was born with a third eye that allows him to see into the past and future, assisting him in combat. Queen Bee of Bialya later brainwashed him into fighting Justice League International, briefly turning him into a villain. There was also a second Tuatara who fought the Birds of Prey as a member of the Silicon Syndicate. Tuatara was created by E. Nelson Bridwell and Ramona Fradon, first appearing in Super Friends #8.
