Quote1 Tell me you're not on again about primordial law... Listen to Agnes, I'm sure she's screaming inside your head. When's the last time you let her out, by the way? Quote2
Neon the Unknown src

Turid Goldenaxe, the Viking Judge, is an ancient warrior whose soul became trapped within her golden axe. Generations later, when the axe was passed into the hands of her descendent, her soul was placed in her body, allowing the Viking Judge to battle evil in the modern era as a member of The Unexpected.

Generations ago, in the era of the Vikings, Turid Goldenaxe dispensed what she called the "true, base laws of man" in the name of berserker gods as their Viking Judge. This led her on a quest against monsters and evil, thanks to which she eventually obtained her golden axe Bright Marshall, which allowed her to see her victim's crimes. At some point, her very soul was trapped within the axe, rendering her powerless for countless years as her perception of "law" became less and less common.[1]

At some point, Bright Marshall came into the hands of Turid's descendant Agnes. When Agnes touched the axe, she was instantly possessed by her ancestor, who used this opportunity to try to impose her laws on the world much more--at the cost of Agnes being trapped in her own head, much like Turid once was in the axe. At some point, the Viking Judge encountered Neon the Unknown, and sought to kill him for his crimes. Neon convinced her, however, that if that she let him live, they could together stop greater threats as The Unexpected. Turid agreed, and joined by Elligh the Ascendant, the Unexpected battled multiversal threats.[1][2] The universe-threatening Bad Samaritan proved too strong for the team, however, and both Turid and Elligh perished in battle.[2]

After the battle, the golden axe was retrieved by an agent of the God Garden,[3] and later, despite her apparent death, Turid was seen wielding the axe in battle against Genocide of the Four Horsewomen.[4][5]
