- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
- In Tempest #4, Garth is fighting an army of resurrected sea creatures. A walrus is among the horde, and is implied to be Tusky -- Garth exclaims, "Oh great--not you too?!" when seeing him. However, Tusky appears alive and well in Aquaman Annual (Volume 5) #3 a short time later, so that is probably not Tusky in Tempest #4.
