Tyler McKnight were among the Smallville residents mutated by the meteor shower in 1989, which gave him a telekinetic control over glass.
History
Years later, Tyler got his girlfriend, Teri Van Horn, pregnant, which resulted in the birth of their daughter Maddie in 1995, whom Teri kept from him. Eventually, this led to Tyler killing Teri. Tyler had also used his ability to break into a jewelry store, which he was caught for an sent to Belle Reve.
When Tyler was released in 2006, he went looking for Maddie and killed her current foster mother, Naomi, but failed to retrieve her. He soon got another chance and grabbed Maddie at the Kent Farm, planning to run away with her, but the two were stopped by Clark Kent and Tyler was taken into custody. However, Tyler managed to escape by killing a police officer and returned to the Kent Farm. But, when he threatened the lives of the Kent family, Maddie fought back and proved herself more powerful than him. Afterwards, Tyler was returned to Belle Reve, while Maddie went to live with his mother.

- It's unknown if Tyler was among the Belle Reve patients, who underwent Curtis Knox's treatment, which removed both abilities and memories.[1]
