Umitu (New Earth)

Umitu was one of the first Green Lanterns to be recruited following the first reconstruction of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal Jordan found and recruited Umitu and tested him on a fistfight. Umitu was a good enough fighter for Hal to accept him into the Corps and let him see the Book of Oa.^[1]

Emerald Twilight

Years later, after the destruction of the Green Lantern Corps, Umitu was one of scores of powerless Green Lanterns captured as part of an interstellar slave ring. He and the rest of the Green Lanterns were rescued by Guy Gardner.^[2]

Restored Corps

Umitu has earned more demerits and suspensions for employing excessive force than any other Green Lantern. He has been informed that one more suspension will result in his expulsion from the corps. Umitu is saving his final outburst for when it is needed most.^[3]
