Underworld Unleashed: Apokolips - Dark Uprising #1 is a one-shot with a cover date of November, 1995.
Synopsis for "Apokolips: Dark Uprising"
The turmoil caused by Darkseid's death[1] draws Neron's attention to Apokolips, where both the Lowlies and Darkseid's Elite scheme to take over the planet.
Claiming to hear Darkseid from "beyond the Source," DeSaad summons Granny Goodness and Virman Vundabar to announce Kalibak as the successor to the throne. Neron also shows up to interrupt the meeting and pits Granny and Vundabar against the other Elites.
Thanks to DeSaad and Neron's meddling tension grows, and alliances are broken as quickly as they are made. With the Hunger Dogs in the middle, war breaks loose between Steppenwolf, Doctor Bedlam, Vundabar, and Granny's troops. The Elites fight for power, but the Hunger Dogs fight for their freedom. Neron offers Targa of the Lowlies the chance to attain victory in this battle, but Targa refuses, claiming that there's no victor in what's to come. Leaving their innocence behind, the Hunger Dogs become warriors and advance through Apokolips' armies. They take the battle to Darkseid's palace, where, to everyone's surprise, the Dark Lord himself shows up, expressing his disappointment over his subjects' betrayal. Darkseid forgives his Elites and even Targa for leading the Hunger Dogs' revolt. But someone still has to pay, so he unleashes his Omega Beams and kills some of the Lowlies.
With the revolt halted, Darkseid goes back inside the palace and ditches the disguise, revealing that it was DeSaad impersonating him. DeSaad claims to be victorious for preserving Darkseid's authority, but the true victor in this battle is Neron, who successfully manipulated everyone to spread war and chaos just for the sake of doing so, bringing this hellish planet to an even more cursed state.
