The United Planets Young Heroes was a government-sponsored team of heroes in the 31st Century.

History

By special order of the President, Deputy Chief of Staff Zilya Popoff recruited a number of young heroes. They were to be included in the Legion of Super-Heroes for political reasons. The Legion was in a rough spot with the government freezing some assets, so Light Lass and Lightning Lad did at least entertain the idea and held informal tryouts. All the members had completely useless or uncontrollable powers, so they were denied.

Popoff reinvented the group as the United Planets Young Heroes. As part of their training, they shadowed the Science Police. All their missions went south, so the Legion had to intervene.
