Unity Kinkaid (disambiguation)

Unity Kinkaid was supposed to be the Dream Vortex, but Desire's intervention confuses the issue and she became one of the victims of the sleepy sickness that followed Dream's capture. While asleep, she was raped by Desire and gave birth to a daughter, Miranda Walker. Unity eventually woke up and her granddaughter, Rose Walker, becomes the new Vortex. Just before Dream can kill Rose, Unity appears and explained that she should have been the Vortex, asking for Rose's heart. Taking the heart, Unity becomes the Vortex and dies.

Unity Kinkaid was created by Neil Gaiman and Sam Kieth, first appearing in Sandman (Volume 2) #1 (1989).
