In 1952 Europe's Urono Mountains were the site of Dr. Moorhead's gigantic Gravity-Multiplier Beam.
History
In 1952, in the Urono Mountains, an insane scientist built and activated a gigantic Gravity-Multiplier Beam, and aimed it at Smalley's Comet. This drew the cosmic projectile towards Earth, at astronomic speeds. The comet's approach caused destructive tides and winds, and seismic activity including an eruption on the ocean floor, which caused a tsunami, all of which was followed by more eruptions, floods, earthquakes, and heat waves.
An airstrike by the famous Blackhawk Squadron was sufficient to destroy Moorhead's device, and Smalley's Comet returned to a safe orbit. Afterward this widespread devastation was never mentioned again.
