"Superman, Matinee, Idol" Review

"Superman, Matinee, Idol" is one of those Golden Age stories that doesn't make a lick of sense even in universe. Superman is concerned with Lois Lane using the cartoon to figure out he is Superman...but not anyone else in the theater doing the same thing. Unless everyone in this world is dumber then a brick Superman should have been more worried about everyone who saw the cartoon connecting the dot. Heck, he should have been more worried on how the makers of the cartoon knew his secret identity!--BruceGrubb (talk) 12:37, January 7, 2017 (UTC)

Superman Vol 1 175 review

While the story has its heart in the right place even by the Superman mythology of 1965 it has problems.

The first problem is Pete Ross was not a scientific genius so how did he find Superman's Fortress, rip the door open, and know how to operate the ancient Kryptonian machines? In the normal Earth-One reality even Lex Luthor couldn't do all that and the reader is asked that Pete Ross had the knowhow to make such an endeavor work.

The second problem is that Superboy had robots with his superpowers. So why hadn't Luthor been working on updated versions of those or better yet a power suit?
