Valeron is a planet in the Sombrero Galaxy, home to the Valeronians and their hero, Vartox.
History
Earth-One
Valeron had an advanced society and a 90% oxygen atmosphere. The planet was destroyed when Vartox became infected with an agent which caused oxygen atoms to break up. Vartox was one of only two survivors (the other being his renegated ex-love, Syreena).[1]
New Earth
In the Post-Crisis Universe, Valeron was never destroyed. The Valeronians are an advanced society but they wear 1970s-like fashion. The population was rendered sterile when space pirates detonated a Contraceptive Bomb. Vartox came to Earth to seduce Power Girl in order to repopulate Valeron. Although the two did not come to actual copulation, Vartox used part of his life-force together with Power Girl to power a "Pregno-Ray", which fertilized all male and female Valeronians.[2]
