Valora-El is the middle child of Jor-El and Lara, the younger sister of Superman and twin sister of Bru-El.
History
Valora and her twin brother Bru-El were conceived and born on Earth. Due to Lara being exposed to microscopic contaminants on Earth while pregnant the twins were born with half the power level of their parents and older brother.
As children, the twins were troublemakers who enjoyed their apparent invulnerability, but learned they could be hurt when they deliberately took the full brunt of an atomic explosion. After this, Valora became much more serious and devoted herself to developing her mind, content at her relative weakness. When she grew up, she entered politics and became a senatorial aide, but quit when she realised her mentor was not interested in her political acumen, only the services she could perform with her powers. She voluntarily exposed herself to Gold Kryptonite to remove her powers and ran for office herself.

- Kryptonian Physiology: (Formerly) Prior to exposing herself to Gold Kryptonite, Valora possessed all the typical powers of a Kryptonian under a "yellow" sun, albeit to a reduced degree.
