Vanessa Ambres was a doctor working at Central City General Hospital.

History

She was present on the night of the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator explosion, helping admit both Harrison Wells and Barry Allen to the hospital.

Doctor Ambres was also working during the night of DeVoe's Enlightenment, which caused S.T.A.R. Labs satellites to crash down from the atmosphere into Central City below. One of the patients Ambres took care of that night was Grace Gibbons, a young girl who became comatose as a result of the incident. Doctor Ambres formed an alliance with Grace's uncle, Orlin Dwyer, to erase Central City of all metahumans as revenge.

Orlin proceeded to operate as the meta-human serial killer, Cicada. Vanessa would grow increasingly more concerned with Orlin's health, due to both his lung injury from the incident and from his bleeding after a battle with Raelene Sharp. Doctor Ambres hid Orlin's involvement from the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, and warned Orlin to stay away from his niece to avoid suspicion.

Cisco Ramon managed to create a meta-human cure, which Orlin agreed to take only if Doctor Ambres was present. The cure worked, however, the future Cicada intervened and killed Ambres.
