That's the problem with heroes... they put their heart into everything. Thinking that if they just try hard enough... it will all turn out okay. But the truth is, the only ones that win are those that are strongest, and let me tell you... none are stronger than The Fraction.

Vel Anthro of House Sigma is the Admiral of The Fraction's raider fleet.
History
Anthro was initially the Captain of the Fraction Empress's guard. When the Fraction's Scientia discovered the means to tap into the Speed Force, he was the first test subject.[1] The Scientia's experiments gave him a natural connection to the Force, but the Empress instructed him to conceal this; correctly believing that the Fraction's people would view this change to his biology as blasphemy and fear the Force when she wished to use it. The Scientia refined their process to allow their people to tap into the Force with technology without being changed via an "Artificial Conduit Harness". Anthro wore a harness like the rest of the Fraction, even though he did not need it, to hide his true nature.[2]
With the power of the Force, the Fraction were able to rapidly develop and colonise their entire star system in a matter of hours, but in so doing they destroyed the natural environment of their homeworld and grew until the resources of their system were no longer enough to support them. The Fraction's Empress charged him to journey out and plunder new worlds to feed the Fraction's ravenous hunger. He agreed, but only if she would grant him her hand in marriage. He was almost executed on the spot for his impudence but the Empress assented to marry him once he had secured enough resources to restore their world to its once beautiful pristine state.
While raiding a nearby star system, Anthro discovered that there were other beings who possessed a natural connection to the Speed Force. The Fraction enslaved these "organic conduits" to serve as living batteries, allowing their ships to travel beyond their own universe and raid the Multiverse itself in search of resources. For his conquests the Fraction revere Anthro as their greatest living hero.[1]
The Fraction's journeys eventually brought them to Earth 0. They landed their ship at the boundary between Keystone City and Central City, killing thousands of people.[3] Their scans revealed an abnormal number of metagenes on the planet, as well as multiple organic conduits, when ordinarily planets had one at most.[4] Despite the wealth of the planet, the native speedsters proved troublesome. They launched multiple assaults on the Fraction's spire, eventually managing to breach the walls.[5]
Anthro and the Fraction Elite battled the Flash Family, and during the fight Barry Allen ripped off his harness. Anthro continued to move at super-speed, revealing that he was an "organic". The others turned on him but he was able to easily kill them all. He chased the Flash Family to the ship's engine room, where they were attempting to channel vast quantities of Speed Force energy into the engine in order to accelerate the Fraction past the speed of light and send them back in time. He moved to stop them, but Wally West attacked him before he could reach them. They fought and, although Anhtro was stronger, Wally was able to throw him into an open battery compartment, trapping him inside and adding his Speed Force energy to the others. This was sufficient to accelerate the ship past lightspeed and, as time started to reverse, Wally told Anthro that as a natural conduit, he wouldn't be affected by the changes go the timeline, and so he would stay trapped in the battery forever.
Time jumped back one minute. On the bridge of the Fraction ship, from the crew's perspective, Anthro suddenly disappeared. The Fraction withdrew to their homeworld to search for him, unaware that he was trapped in the engine and powering the ship.[2]
Powers and Abilities

- Accelerated Healing: By having a connection to the speed force, Vel Anthro has an incredibly fast healing ability and can heal from most injuries in seconds and devastating injuries in minutes.[7]
- Enhanced Senses: The Speed Force enhances Vel Anthro's senses, allowing him to perceive and process thoughts faster than the normal person.[8]
- Phasing: Vel Anthro can tap into the Speed Force to vibrate his molecules in a way to achieve intangibility for short bursts, allowing him to phase through objects.[9]
- Speed Force Aura: The Speed Force manifests an aura around Vel Anthro and whatever he is carrying, protecting him from adverse effects of his speed, such as friction with the air.[10]
- Superhuman Durability: The Speed Force Aura also protects Vel Anthro from kinetic impacts, which in turn, makes him much more durable and resistant to injury than any normal human.[11]
- Superhuman Stamina: The Speed Force grants Vel Anthro with a great increase of stamina, allowing him to fight or run much longer than the average person. Although a great increase, it is not unlimited.[8]
- Superhuman Speed: The universal factor of being a Speed Force conduit grants Vel Anthro with imperceptible amounts of speed. All powers that Vel Anthro possesses derives from his speed.[8]. This also confers:
- Superhuman Agility: Vel Anthro's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to superhuman levels. This allows him to easily maneuver while moving at superhuman speed.[8]
- Superhuman Reflexes: In conjunction with his enhanced senses, Vel Anthro's reflexes are heightened immeasurably, allowing him to dodge or react faster than normal.[8]
- Vortex Creations: Vel Anthro is able to create vortices of air by running in circles or rotating his extremities at super-speed. These vortices can be used for a number of effects.[12]
- Superhuman Strength: Anthro can use his speed to enhance his strength to the point where he once accidentally ripped a man in two while trying to push him away.[1]
Abilities
- Leadership
- Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced): Vel is The Fraction's greatest living warrior. He was able to single-handedly kill all of his former subordinate soldiers when they turned on him.[2] Vel even managed to catch one of the Flash's punches and send him flying into the air with a kick.[13]
