Veronica Vreeland was a high-society debutante in Gotham City, who Oswald Cobblepot was infatuated with.
History
One day, Veronica was was visited by a man called Tony who was a friend of Oswald Cobblepot (aka the penguin) who had grown obsessed with Veronica. Tony had come to Veronica who put in a good word for Cobblepot. After Tony left the Vreeland Estate, Cobblepot misinterpreted the whole scene, believing he was "sneaking out" of Veronica's house, and killed him.
At Tony's funeral, Oswald tried to talk to Veronica and offered her his shoulder, still believing Tony was her secret boyfriend. She slapped Oswald and told him the truth about Tony's visit. After that, she asked Oswald for one favor: She wanted him to stop pretending that he's a good guy.[1]
