Notes
- A second edition of this Secret Files was published in 2005. The only difference was the timeline, which was now updated to include the events between 2000 and 2005.
- "The Gangster, the Whore and the Magician" is a text story with illustrations.
- Michael Bonner writes both the Hellblazer characters' profiles and the timeline of John's life as well as the "Constantine's London" story.
- "The First Time" appears to be set in London, even though Constantine still lived in Liverpool during the 1950s.
- "Straight to Hell" retells Constantine's editorial story from his introduction by Alan Moore to the events of Hellblazer from the perspective of its various writers.
- Several errors exist in the characters' profiles:
- Kon-sten-tyn's profile repeats the same mistake of placing his story in the 1st Century which cannot be possible;
- The image of the Constantine Family shows Pyotr Konstantin's future counterpart, Misery, but his profile retells his past self's story;
- The same image of the Constantine Family also features Family Man/Samuel Morris and the King of the Vampires who respectively murder John's father, Thomas, and his grandfather, William;
- Swamp Thing's profile states that the war against the Brujería and, later, the Great Darkness occurred after the First Crisis which is false as it happened between the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths #5 and Crisis on Infinite Earths #11 with the final climax of Swamp Thing (Volume 2) #49–50 being set in the newly born New Earth between Crisis on Infinite Earths #11 and Crisis on Infinite Earths #12;
- The First of the Fallen's profile doesn't mentioned that, in the end, Constantine was able to had his soul back after threatening God of becoming the scourge of Creation.[1]
- In the "Constantine's London" story, the events of Hellblazer #68–69 are implied to be set in Hampstead Heath but it never actually appeared in these stories. However, it is possible that Constantine was actually found in the borough of Camden by the King of the Vampires.
- According to Harry Constantine's profile, the Ribbon Queen, who actually cursed him, is a demoness.
- The "Constantine's London" story confirms George Ridley's surname. During his original appearance from Hellblazer #65, he and his brother, Dez, were called "Foster".
