Victor Fries turned into crime to save his dying wife, only to be transformed into the villainous Mr. Freeze.

History

Dr. Victor Fries was a scientist working under Ferris Boyle. When his wife, Nora, became terminally ill, he put her into cryo-sleep. He started using company resources to further his research, resulting in his boss attacking him. In the process, he was exposed to cryogenic chemicals, causing him to only be able survive in sub-zero temperatures. Creating a Cryo-Suit and an ice gun, he became the super-villain Mr. Freeze.
