Victor Lanza was one of the humans who possessed a fragment of the Anti-Life Equation in their minds.
History
Origin
Orion saved Victor, and three other humans, from Darkseid's restrains, who sought to find the Anti-Life Equation buried in their minds, and took him to Earth. There, they helped Orion, calling himself O'Ryan, to confront forces from Apokolips and Intergang.
Death
Years later, Victor's son took him to the Glen Oak retirement home, much for Victor's reluctance. Unfortunately, the same day he installed there, Necromina, one of Darkseid's servant, came to Earth to capture Orion. To do so, she raised an army of undead and invaded the retirement home, using Victor as bait. Necromina managed to capture Orion, but before taking him to Apokolips, Victor confronted her. However, she killed Victor on the spot, and escaped with her bounty.[1] Afterwards, the Black Racer appeared before Victor's dying body to take him to the afterlife.[2]
Alive Again
For unexplained reasons, Victor Lanza's death was erased from continuity, and he was seen alive in later events.[3]

Notes
- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
- Victor Lanza's unexplained appearances after his death could be considered a consequence of the Zero Hour crisis, since his death took place before the event.
