- Vishnu was created by Dennis O'Neil and Dick Dillin, first appearing in The Atom and Hawkman #42. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Vishnu first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Trinity of Sin: The Phantom Stranger #10 by J.M. DeMatteis and Fernando Blanco.

- Vishnu's gender is male, but he can change gender depending on avatar change (he even says that everything in his realm is fluid). The avatar Mohini, for example, is called with female pronouns.
